Words can hurt more than a slap, people should think before they open mouth. Will was in position without an option, and Chris was the one to put him in this position. Do not make such jokes if you know that someone is going trough rough times. Will should have knock him out for that.

This will affect Will Smith’s career for the rest of his life. The movies that were released since that Oscars that starred Will Smith tanked. His toxic wife told the world that she didn’t know why WS called her his wife during the screaming at Chris Rock that night. They had not lived together as husband/wife for 5 years. That makes the over reaction from WS look even crazier. Props to Chris Rock!!!!!! CR showed the world how an adult should handle an immediate tense situation. I do wish WS had been arrested. He should have been cuffed on camera and lost the chance to win his Oscar.

Oscar's are so out of touch. Jim Carrey had it right. Oscar's are trash. I haven't watched it in years and don't plan to. It doesn't impact my choice of which movkes to watch. Oscar nominated? Sure, whatever.
No. I don't feel sorry for Chris Rock. 1) Comedy is not "supposed to be" Edgy. Edgy and dark comedies are specific genres of comedy that isn't expected from all comedians, nor do all comedians have the talent to do it well – where an important point is being discussed and no one is offended. Chris Rock does not possess that talent. 2) Chris Rock made a CHOICE to say those things on Stage. He didn't have to do any of it. He didn't have to insult anyone. But he did, and that was his choice. 3) When you make a choice to insult someone as a comedian, especially an individual who did not volunteer to be insulted (which the smiths obviously didn't), you're taking a risk. That risk being – you might anger someone as a result and have to endure the wrath of that person – not knowing what they might do as a result of you inraging them. In Chris Rocks case, his consequence was getting slapped on national television. Considering that Smith could've very well caused more damage, Rock got off easy. So, no. Chris Rock and comedians like him who CHOOSE to insult people because that is the brand of "comedy" that they have CHOSEN to be a part of are not vitcims of circumstances and are completely responsible to whatever outcome may occur as a result of their words. Actions gave consequences, and we are in perfect control and responsible for the words that we choose say, and that's the way it's always been. Will Smith committed a crime by assulting Chris Rock, but his reaction was understandable, and Chris Rock was responsible for causing it. You don't willingly go into a tigers den and then act surprised when you get mauled to death. I don't feel sorry for Chris Rock

In ANY TV show, speciasl, commercials, game shows, etc; Hollywood has "set-up scenarios" where everyone is in on the joke…..aka Acting. So during the 2023 Oscar's – NO ONE REACTED to defend Rock during the Awards, because we all thought it was "part of the show." Hollywood = Acting/Pretending = You do not know what's Real and what's Fake or "put on." If anyone had intervened, the fines and fees for disrupting the show are very real and they'll be banned and/or uninvited.
