I didn’t want to nitpick but I just have to. When speaking about Russell Brand you said “Through him other British actors were motivated to train for it like Henry Cavill and Guy Ritchie.” Guy Ritchie is a Renzo Gracie black belt and spent 7 years as a brown belt. He’s trained over 20 years and was already at an advanced belt rank before Russell Brand even began training. Also many of the higher ranked celebs you mentioned would be destroyed by Tom Hardy because anyone who’s regularly competing is in a different league. Anyone who trains knows how tough a competing blue belt is vs a person who’s practicing a hobby. The pace, pressure and intensity are just way different from someone who competes regularly. Ashton Kutcher doesn’t have “fights” he has rolls in class and chances are he like many celebs that train with Rigan Machado are taken care of and only ever train with him personally without hard rolls. Ashton may be a higher rank due to how many times he clocks in but Tom Hardy or Mario Lopez would put an insane amount of pressure that he’s not used to, they train hard and compete often
Ashton Couture never competed in a BJJ tournament. Being a BJJ brown belt doesn’t mean crap. I had a black belt in Judo and did not train for 5 years and fought a BJJ brown belt to a draw. So… wtf? I competed a lot in Boxing, Kickboxing Judo, Wrestling when I was younger. So basically I didn’t compete for or train for 6 years. I might go train in Brazil cause my wife is Brazilian.
Russel Brand even says hes too much of a peaceful guy to compete. Some people have leaked his training videos and he goes hard. I don't think there's anything wrong with people who do BJJ for them, not for competing.
It just amazes me how quickly we put men down. Mf finds out Tom Hardy is accomplished blue belt I bjj, and decides to make a video on other famous guys that can 'beat him'.. wow.
Tom Hardy is learning it properly, while guys like Zuckerberg and Jonah Hill are taking the easy route. That said if I had the opportunity to lightly spar for many hours with a black belt while being coached through every position, I would take it.
The commentator distroyed every Brazilian name. They forgot the granddaddy of them all Ed O'Niel. He got his black belt in BJJ in 2007 from the Gracies. He's done it for more the 2 decades.

Arnold! He talk funny and we lose focus
Active blue belts who win real competitions can possibly give trouble to a hobbyist brown belt.

They just let him win because they're afraid of smashing a celebrity
This guy loves to hear himself talk
Winning competitions v getting belts from famous trainers
