Stephen King is asking out Warner Bros. for holding off on releasing Salem’s Lot, which had been set to launch in 2023.
The horror e-book writer took to social media to share his ideas and replace his followers that he had seen the movie and was happy with it.
“Between you and me, Twitter, I’ve seen the brand new SALEM’S LOT and it’s fairly good,” King shared on X, the social media platform previously often called Twitter. “Previous-school horror filmmaking: gradual construct, large payoff.”
He continued, “Undecided why WB is holding it again; not prefer it’s embarrassing, or something. Who is aware of. I simply write the fucking issues.”
Salem’s Lot was initially slated to drop post-Labor Day in 2022 however would later be moved to Spring 2023 “because of Covid-related delays within the post-production realm.”
Gary Dauberman directed the New Line function that stars Lewis Pullman (Ben Mears), Alfre Woodard (Dr. Cody), Makenzie Leigh (Susan Norton), Invoice Camp (Matthew Burke), Spencer Deal with Clark (Mike Ryerson), Pilou Asbæk (Straker) and John Benjamin Hickey as Father Callahan.
Salem’s Lot was revealed in 1975 and revolves round writer Ben Mears returning to his childhood house of Jerusalem’s Lot in the hunt for inspiration for his subsequent e-book solely to find his hometown is being preyed upon by a bloodthirsty vampire.
The horror novel was tailored in 1979 in a two-part miniseries directed by Tobe Hooper, which aired on CBS. In 2004, TNT tailored the e-book into a brand new two-part miniseries with Rob Lowe starring as Ben Mears.
