The billionaire Ronald Lauder has agreed to return a chunk of artwork looted by Nazis from a collector who was later killed in a focus camp.
Lauder will switch Austrian expressionist Egon Schiele’s 1912 colour drawing “I Love Antithesis” to the Manhattan District Legal professional’s workplace. The piece is value $2.75 million, in line with the D.A.’s workplace.
Lauder is considered one of a number of artwork collectors and entities who’re voluntarily returning seven Schiele artworks to the heirs of Fritz Grunbaum, a Jewish cabaret performer from Austria, via the D.A.’s workplace.
