After an unsuccessful assembly on Tuesday, the PAFA board made the unanimous choice to finish its Bachelor of Nice Arts and Grasp of Nice Arts applications.
The Academy mentioned they’d confronted issues with rising prices, increasing necessities and dwindling enrollment.
“Regardless of our greatest efforts to deal with these challenges, we have now decided that the one path ahead is to wind down our BFA and MFA applications on the finish of the 2024-2025 educational yr,” Pryor mentioned in a information launch. “This variation impacts our degree-granting applications solely. The Academy mentioned juniors, seniors and Grasp of Nice Arts college students who’re anticipated to graduate in 2024 or 2025 will achieve this as deliberate.
Nevertheless, first-year college students and sophomores will end their time on the Pennsylvania Academy of the Nice Arts on the finish of the present educational yr. These remaining 37 college students will likely be given a switch plan to a spread of native faculties to finish their arts levels, in line with the Academy.
Pryor mentioned agreements are in place with the College of the Arts, Temple College’s Tyler Faculty of Artwork and Structure, Moore School of Artwork & Design, Arcadia College and Pennsylvania School of Artwork and Design.
