Textual content description supplied by the architects. The challenge is positioned on the western entrance to the city of Tarare. This redevelopment of business and logistics websites inside the city cloth has enabled us to reinforce the worth of this historically marginal suburban space, providing manufacturing unit staff a website that’s totally accessible to comfortable mobility and built-in into the city cloth. Our mission was to work with the challenge proprietor to help the emergence of a brand new productive metropolis.

Ground Plan

The Ninkasi factories are composed of a primary manufacturing constructing and two getting old cellars. All buildings are set again from the street to protect views of the viaduct and the doorway to the city. The widespread thread to all buildings is the usage of a purple mass-tinted concrete used as a ending coat, reminding the hues and colours of the close by viaduct and the Turdine Valley stones.

Ground Plan – Workplaces

The outer shell of the primary constructing is clad in several shades of concrete (Crimson and white). Some areas, like the method space, are clad in anodized or lacquered aluminum, thus reflecting the colours, lights, and shades of the encompassing panorama. Galvanized metal metalwork echoes the three massive halls. The getting old cellars are clad in purple concrete, creating two homogeneous monolithic objects that work together with their inexperienced environment.

The interiors are intentionally left unfinished, leaving room for the constructing’s sheer materiality, and giving the constructing a type of constructive fact. All flooring are manufactured from gray quartz concrete, whereas the partitions are left unfinished. The equipment, in the meantime, is uncovered in metal. On the workplace aspect, birch plywood is mixed with a textured acoustic protecting. Using untreated wooden brings a heat facet to those work and assembly areas, in distinction to the manufacturing unit’s manufacturing/equipment areas. It additionally echoes the wooden of the barrels within the whiskey getting old cellars.
