Since 2020, the Ministry of Tradition and Visa pour l’Picture have awarded two manufacturing grants every year – endowed with 8,000 euros every – to ladies photographers in recognition of their contribution to photojournalism.
This award pays tribute to Françoise Demulder – an incredible French struggle photographer, the primary feminine winner of the World Press Photograph in 1977. It encourages the careers of ladies photographers in an effort to compensate for his or her weak illustration within the press sector (22.5% photographers are ladies, in keeping with the 2019 statistics of the Fee for the Id Card of Skilled Journalists – CCIJP).
