I always thought these interviews were staged, but in light of todayās awareness, creepy indeed.
O Brien's 'I've heard about you and you'll be caught soon I'm sure' is a direct – letting you know he knows lol. Because that doesn't really make sense in response to 'touch my balls line', like, yeah it's in that sphere but Masterson was clearly… the joke was about the accent there and how the word balls sounds in that accent, so for O Brien to respond like that was telling. A lot of truth is said in jest.

These interviews didn't "become" disturbing, they WERE disturbing. Then and now! I had not seen most of them and I physically recoiled watching some of these guys harrassing the women. Fast forward to today and we have a convicted rapist for a president. Gee, I wonder why men in our society think it's okay to treat women this way. Aside from Masterson and Weinstein (and Cosby for a minute) none of them were held accountable. This is the message young men (and old) are getting and most look up to celebrities and want to emulate them. Gross.

Some of them I couldn't even bare to watch at the time like Bill Cosby and Jimmy Saville. In Australia Robert Hughes who played the Dad in Hey Dad! was the same. I just could not watch those people. Turns out the gut feeling was right. I'm sure heaps of others have had the same feelings about those and other people.
If a guy interviewed the way Diane Sawyer and Barbara Walters did there, they'd be smeared across the media by the next day. Those two women have a lot to answer for with the way they treat people.
