Till December 30, the Moroccan gallery INEX presents Aurore Vinot’s exhibition entitled Women of Götheborg. The photographer added these few phrases:
Photographer and documentary filmmaker, I embarked as a sailor and reporter aboard the Gotheborg, the biggest picket sailboat on this planet, a duplicate of an 18th century ship of the Swedish East India Firm. From Sète to Gibraltar, my photographic collection “Women of Gotheborg” retraces this crossing and the unimaginable tenacity of the ladies sailors on board, tightrope walkers on the ocean with eclectic backgrounds.
I chosen a number of tales; some girls within the crew shared my watch and but we had little alternative to talk. The tempo was intense, the bodily endurance spectacular and so they deployed all their efforts to maneuver this majestic ship ahead, this immense sailboat for which this was undoubtedly the final voyage.
