If you wish to go to the Portland Artwork Museum however aren’t thrilled about paying $22 to $25 to get within the door, excellent news – free “First Thursdays” are coming again in 2024.
On Tuesday, the museum announced the return of the month-to-month free day, to start on Thursday, Jan. 4, from 10 a.m. to eight p.m. on the Portland Artwork Museum, with free programming additionally on the PAM/CUT Tomorrow Theater in Southeast Portland.
The museum used to let guests in at no cost on the primary Thursday night of the month. That program ended across the time the museum shut down for the COVID-19 pandemic.

The brand new program is supported by funds from Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All Program. That funding will permit the museum to proceed free First Thursday on the museum and the PAM CUT Tomorrow Theater for 3 years, together with programming and viewers growth.
Portland Artwork Museum is considered one of 64 organizations nationwide to learn from this system, meant to assist deliver guests again to museums within the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I’m so happy to have the ability to deliver this free entry day again to our neighborhood and extremely grateful for the partnership with the Artwork Bridges Basis,” Portland Artwork Museum Director Brian Ferriso stated in a press launch. “Along with the month-to-month free day, guests have been asking for prolonged night and weekend hours. The museum is devoted to doing our half to revive Portland’s downtown, and we look ahead to welcoming everybody.”

Tickets to free First Thursdays, together with these $22 to $25 common admission tickets, can be found to order upfront at portlandartmuseum.org/tickets/general-admission. Tickets to First Thursdays will be reserved every week forward of time or bought on the door.
